Yes, each VeraCash card is equipped with the 3D Secure system by default, for purchases made on e-commerce websites which use that system.
What is 3D Secure?
3D Secure (3DS) is an online authentication and secure payment protocol which was developed by Visa and Mastercard and uses the names “Verified by Visa” and “MasterCard SecureCode”.
It is a measure designed to ensure that the buyer is in fact the instigator of the transaction and to reduce fraud.
Once a buyer has input or confirmed their bank information on a merchant website, they will need to enter either:
1) a single-use code sent to them by text message; or
2) a password which the buyer defined when making a first online purchase; or
3) authentication by fingerprint, for example from the bank’s website.
We recommend making purchases from online websites which offer 3D Secure.
