What is the difference between storage fees and oxidation?

Storage fees apply to accounts under the standard storage fee system. They are calculated monthly at the standard annual rate of 0.15% or the reduced annual rate of 0.10%.

Oxidation applies to accounts that have had no transactions for 12 consecutive months. It involves a charge of 0.02% per day on the value of the precious metals held.

To avoid oxidation, you simply need to carry out a qualifying transaction on your account, such as buying or selling precious metals or making a payment with your Veracash card. Simply logging into the app is not sufficient.
